My farrier practically begged me to loan my old pony to him for his daughters. I reluctantly agreed. That was 17 months ago. He had mentioned to me that during her stay with them she had been diagnosed with uveitis. He recently advised she was spooking when ridden, which he said was due to the uveitis and he wanted to return her to me as his children were becoming anxious when riding her.
Little did I know how bad the condition actually was, the first week I had her in my care I thought I would have to have her put to sleep as her eyes were shut, puffy, painful and very watery, she was wearing a equivsor fly mask that I had purchased for her return. My farrier had only been using a Rambo fly mask which I had sent with her at the time the loan started.
I contacted Penny at equivsor and asked for her help. She suggested I try the recovery mask. I am very grateful to Penny as now her eyes are much better, I can wipe them now without feeling I am causing her great pain.
I would happily recommend a recovery mask to help improve a horse suffering with uveitis. By Sue L
